Logan Matthew Paul Shockey

We were very blessed with our second child on August 17th, 2012 at 8:37 p.m.  Our son Logan Matthew Paul Shockey was 7lbs. 5.8oz. and was 19 1/2in. long.  My labor was about 12 hours and it went as well as I could have hoped.  I had wanted to try to do it without and epidural and I was able to.  As with his brother I was blessed with only having to push once before he was here to meet us all.  We were so thankful that our good friend...well really family Cheryl came and was with us for most of the evening to help out and help keep my mind off of the contractions.  We were also happy to have our good friend Lee and Emily arrive just in time to see our little man enter the world.

Leyton was very excited to come meet his little brother but has been very serious that he is not a big brother he is a Leyton.  He is very sweet with his baby brother and loves to kiss him and love on him.  He has been a great helper for mommy.  After Leyton greeted his new brother we did his 0 birthday with the cake that Grandma Bonnie and Leyton made while I was in labor.  This is something that we started with Leyton were we did a birthday cake and candle and sang happy birthday when they were born.  It's a fun way to welcome the new baby to the world.  We were lucky enough to go home quickly and I was so happy to be home with all my boys.  We gave Logan his first bath that evening which he wasn't so happy about and Leyton wasn't so happy about all the crying.  He still doesn't but he will get used to it at some point I am sure.

Over the next couple of days and weeks we got into a pretty good routine with the boys and had our first visit with our amazing pediatrician Dr. Beth Harvey.  Leyton was so happy to see her and I know Logan will love her just as much as he gets older.  We also went to a friends dental office and had a cast of Logan's foot done also something we did with Leyton and it is so fun to have that little keep sake.  Thank you Nina and Dr. Smith's office for doing this for us.

Over the past few months we have learned that Logan is a sweet baby with a very easy temperament.  I have been so blessed with two very wonderful and easy boys.  Probably my favorite thing is to see Leyton with his brother.  It is so sweet how much he loves him and how he tries to play with him.  Now that Logan is getting older he just stares at Leyton and laughs at him all the time.  They are the loves of my life and I am so blessed to have them both!!!

We have had a great time watching Logan grow and celebrate many first including first smiles, and laughs.  First Halloween as a dragon, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.

Logan 3 months old.

Happy Thanksgiving my little Turkeys!

That darn turkey gets another one...oh ya maybe just a milk coma.

He is growing bigger by the minute and at his 4 month check up he was whopping 14lbs. 13oz. and 24 1/2 in. long.  He is in full swing of teething with drool everywhere and he is chewing on anything that doesn't move out of his way fast enough.  Mostly mommy's chin.  He has also officially started rolling over.  He loves to play with his toys and is a very happy smiley baby!!!

I am so looking forward to seeing how he changes over the next few months and see how his little personality comes out.  I am very interested to see how alike or different he and his brother are as they look identical.  I actually did a side by side comparison of them just to see and wow!!!

I have put several of my favorite pictures we have gotten of him so far.  I am sure we will have many more as you can see I love my sleeping sweetie!!!
